7TH GRADE ENGLISH SEMESTER 2

Literature, grammar and vocabulary are introduced on an integrated basis throughout the semester.  Both the study of the structure of language and the study of literary selections are means to the end of achieving greater effectiveness in composition. The writing process will also be a focus in this semester. Writing activities will focus on the conventions of writing as well as writing poetry, persuasive writing, cause and effect essays, and a research paper. The literary focus will be on cause and effect, chronological order, theme, reading comprehension, and understanding figurative language.
