Students will learn about American History dating from the 1800s through the early 1900s with emphasis on the fight for rights of women and African Americans, the Westward Movement, Civil War, Reconstruction, Immigration, the Progressive Movement, and war with Spain. Students will also examine the impact of the industrialization, nationalism, and imperialism on world events. The topics of government, economics, geography, and world history will be connected in all lessons. In each lesson students will be asked to read the textbook, complete reinforcement activities and textbook assignment, as well as write about history.
