AMERICAN / ARIZONA GOVERNMENT
American Arizona Government is a one-semester course that meets Arizona graduation requirements for both American Government and Arizona Government. It is a study of democracy and the American governmental systems, the processes, and contributions to the American people. The duties of elected officials, basic principles of the American democratic government, and political behavior are covered. The executive, legislative and judicial branches of government and their functions, civil rights and civil liberties, and comparative systems are studied. Federal, state, and local government actions, and the rights and roles of American people are related. The political history of Arizona, its three governmental branches, local governmental entities and citizenship responsibilities round out the course.
