FRESHMAN ENGLISH 1

Literature, grammar and vocabulary are introduced on an integrated basis throughout the semester. Both the study of the structure of language and the study of literary selections are means to the end of achieving greater effectiveness in composition. The focus of English is writing compare and contrast essays, practical writing, writing opinion statements, and writing a book review. The scope and sequence of literature will enhance reading comprehension, literary skills, vocabulary, process writing, critical thinking and viewing.
