This course continues the study of grammar, usage, and punctuation. This course is concerned with the student’s understanding and analysis of literature. Literary readings include biographies, essays, nonfiction, epic poetry, and adolescent novels. More sophisticated exposition and description writing assignments direct the student’s path to writing more effectively. One assignment is to write a review of an adolescent novel. The Six-Trait Writing Rubric is used to assess writing assignments.
