Understanding how to effectively communicate is important for everyday life. By thoroughly evaluating various speeches and practicing a range of communication strategies, you will develop invaluable skills for conducting your own oral presentations. You are expected to video tape yourself giving speeches; please be prepared. Major topics studied in this course include: delivering an impromptu speech, oral interpretations of literary and original works, conducting interviews, evaluation of informal and formal presentations, analyzing and evaluating visual media and producing a multimedia presentation.
