Understanding how to effectively communicate is important for everyday life. By thoroughly evaluating various speeches and practicing a range of communication strategies, you will develop invaluable skills for conducting your own oral presentations. You are expected to video tape yourself giving speeches; please be prepared. Major topics studied in this course include: delivering an impromptu speech, oral interpretations of literary and original works, conducting interviews, evaluation of informal and formal presentations, analyzing and evaluating visual media and producing a multimedia presentation.

This course is designed for second semester sophomore students who desire to improve their reading, writing, and grammar skills in order to meet English and literature competency requirements for graduation.
