Mathematics

This course is designed to cover trigonometry topics in depth.  The course will explore trigonometric functions and their graphs, analytic trigonometry, applications of trigonometry, discrete mathematics, and basic calculus ideas.  A graphing calculator will also be used.  It is equivalent to a semester of Pre-Calculus 2.

This course is designed so that all students will understand Geometry. The course focuses on the key topics that provide a strong foundation in the essentials of Geometry. The exercises for each lesson provide many opportunities to practice and maintain skills, as well to apply concepts to real world problems. Topics will include: ratios, properties, postulates, theorems, dilations, polygons, surface area, volume, radicals, basic trigonometry, and symmetry.

This course is designed so that all students can understand geometry. The course focuses on the key topics that provide a strong foundation in the essentials of geometry. The exercises for each lesson provide many opportunities to practice and maintain skills and to apply geometric concepts to real world problems. Topics will include: basic elements of geometry, reasoning, segments, angles, “if-then” statements, theorems, and properties of triangles, bisectors, quadrilaterals, and trapezoids.

Algebra 4 will reinforce the concepts of functions, probability, and statistics; and introduce the concepts of rational functions, radical functions, conic sections, sequences, series, and trigonometry. Foundations in basic math (i.e. arithmetic and Pre Algebra) and in three semesters of Algebra are essential for success. A graphing calculator will be needed for this course.

Algebra 3 is the first semester of the second year of algebra in the high school curriculum. Algebra 3 will reinforce the concepts of linear functions, linear systems, matrices, quadratic functions; and introduce the concepts of polynomial functions, exponential functions, and logarithmic functions. Foundations in basic math (i.e. arithmetic and Pre-algebra) and in Algebra 1 and 2 are essential for success. A graphing calculator will be needed for this course.
