Glendale, Arizona -
GLENDALE, Ariz. (September 13, 2011) – JR Executives, a nonprofit youth leadership development organization and Blueprint Education, a nonprofit educational organization, are proud to announce a new partnership to provide high school credit for leadership related activities that these youth perform throughout the year.
JR Executives works to improve educational opportunity for students through scholarships, academic achievement initiatives, mentoring opportunities and youth leadership development. Their goal is to equip youth for competition with the best and the brightest in the nation and the world. The Youth Leadership Development Program is designed to develop leadership skills among youth by creating a positive image, communication skills, and opportunities that will help them plan for success in their school, career, community, and future work experiences. JR Executives program offers a format for these youth to be exposed to educational opportunities in the state of Arizona.
JR Executives focuses on: 1) enhancing leadership skills of exemplary youth (emerging and existing) with demonstrated leadership qualities and concerns for their community; 2) providing youth with a practical and basic understanding of major challenges and opportunities facing the Phoenix metropolitan area; and 3) enhancing the educational experience of these future leaders and strengthening interest, participation and commitment to service learning in their communities. “We are really building a passion in them for voluntary community involvement and service learning,” says Vernon Ennels Jr., Executive Director of JR Executives. “Our mission is to provide much needed training, educational support and social resources to our youth to strengthen their career ability, promote educational success and social responsibility, while embracing cultural and racial unity.”
“The experiences these youth have are truly life changing. We are so excited to capture these experiences and honor them with high school credit,” states Brenda Baer, Director of Distance Learning at Blueprint.
Candidates for the JR Executive Youth Leadership Development program are recommended by parents, teachers, churches, community, or affiliate youth leadership programs and must have the desire to participate. These candidates usually spend six months to one year based on family support, academic compliance, etc. Local religious and community organizations provide volunteer mentors who monitor the fulfillment of the program requirements. Blueprint Education has aligned this program to educational standards which translates nontraditional activities into accredited high school Carnegie Units in order to award academic credit.
Blueprint Education programs and courses provide quality standards for sound educational programs established by several accrediting agencies. The NCA and AdvancED accreditation covers Blueprint Education educational courses in all six North American accrediting regions as well as internationally. It is certified as a Distance Education Provider by the State of Arizona.
