Carmen Leathers

ELL Coordinator/Teacher Blueprint HS and Hope HS Online

Location: Hope High School Online

Professional:
After retiring from a 20-year career in public education three years ago, I promptly began working for Blueprint Education, where daily I have the extraordinary opportunity to learn along with my students.

I have a Master’s Degree in Education from Arizona State University, and am certified in Spanish Bilingual Education (grades K-12) and English (grades 7-12). I taught in public schools for two decades in the Casa Grande Elementary School District and Chandler Unified School District.

Personal:
I enjoy reading, scouting for deals (a hobby known as “thrifting”), vacationing in Sedona, and traveling to Minnesota to see my daughter, her husband, and my two lovely granddaughters. They live in Rochester, where my son-in-law is completing his residency in radiology at the Mayo Clinic, and my daughter works as a registered nurse. My son lives in Phoenix and works as a senior loan officer.

Among many other things, Blueprint Education enables me to be a really great “Nana” to my darling girls.

Quote You live by:
“I am the recipient of bountiful unmerited favor.”

Favorite Blueprint Memory:
I actually have an interesting, long-standing connection to Blueprint Education. Over 40 years ago, I dropped out of high school, only to return to Yuma High School in January of my senior year. With the help of Blueprint Education (then known as Phoenix Special Programs), I was able to graduate with my class.
