Location: Blueprint Office

Professional Background:
Most of my early education was in Salt Lake City, Utah, although I graduated from Rancho High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. From there I moved to Phoenix and attended Grand Canyon College, where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in education. I worked as a teacher and administrator in the Peoria Unified School District for 30 years, where I taught kindergarten, 6th and 7th grades, and Physical Education. After earning a Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Northern Arizona University, I became an assistant principal and then a principal in a K-8 grade setting. During my administrative years, I went on to earn my Doctorate in Educational Administration, spending two summers in Zimbabwe, Africa. There I studied the factors that influence women in education and had the opportunity to travel to all the education districts in the country. This was a highlight of my years in the world of education.
Personal Life:
My family has always been the center of my world! I am one of five children and grew up with many aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins around. Holidays have always been a great tradition in my family, and they continue to give us an opportunity to get together to celebrate what is happening in our lives. I have two married daughters and five grandchildren. For those who know me, it is understood that there will always be a "grandchild" story—from Brittany's horseback riding lessons to Hailey getting into trouble at the gym! It’s important for me to be involved in the lives of my grandchildren and to have the opportunity to watch my daughters as mothers and wives as they form their own adult experiences. When I am not with my family, I love to travel, hike, sew and read.

The opportunity to work at Blueprint Education has been nothing but enjoyable! I love that I have the chance to work with people who truly care about students and believe we can make a difference in individual students’ lives. I am impressed by the team spirit that exists here and how everyone, no matter what their title, is valued for their contributions. It also doesn't hurt that our work is fun.
