Our Journey to Agile
Blueprint Education is a non-profit operating charter schools in Arizona. Before Agile, our culture was typical of any other organization. Employees did not share their true feelings and initiatives flowed one way from the top down. Positive reinforcement did not exist and ideas had to be aligned with what was already set. Employees were cordial but the work environment was not authentic. It was accepted that this is the way things are.
With a little luck and lots of hard work, you can transform your work experience from command and control to trust and transparency!

Agile in Education
Krissyn Sumare, Senior Director of Academics, is spearheading Blueprint Education's partnership development with Agile and other like-minded organizations. Since education is still a new player in the Agile and Scrum world, the partnerships we develop will help strengthen our students' skillsets and provide a significant advantage as they move into the workforce. Krissyn also oversees the most recent training for educators and those interested in incorporating Agile into education through the Cal K12 training.

Corporate Partnerships
Agile principles and scrum values are front and center at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona as well as at Blueprint Education. It just made sense to come together and help students become well versed in the benefits of Agile and Scrum and involve the BCBS employees to model and mentor how Agile and Scrum are being utilized in the workplace. Who knew that it would be such a win-win for everyone! Our students from both "Hope" schools, Hope High School and Hope High School Online were welcomed into the BCBS building in a 2-day workshop created by both BCBS and Blueprint Education staff. As Garrett Anderson, VP of Application Development for BCBS summed it up perfectly, "we are collaborating with the community to make lasting change."
Blueprint Education's mission is to inspire students to make better choices and be champions of their own learning in an alternative, non-traditional school environment. We want to provide opportunities, tools, and choices that help students take ownership of how they learn as well as create more engagement in the learning process itself.
Students learn in a variety of ways and Blueprint can blend different methods of delivery that is best suited for each student. These educational options are meant to help inspire students towards a more rewarding and purposeful future. A future of many opportunities that they discover and of which they can be proud!
