Blueprint Education and The Barbell Saves Project are proof that when education and students meet movement and life-changing purpose with adults who care, incredible things happen!
Crossfit Discovery
It began in early 2021, when Blueprint Education CEO Mark French decided he needed a fresh way to boost his physical strength and improve his cardio fitness. With zero idea what CrossFit actually involved, Mark bravely stepped into a local CrossFit gym (CrossFit Uru) and signed up for his very first session. From that moment, he was immersed in a world of Olympic-style lifts and gymnastics-inspired moves exercise unleashing a new puzzle to solve and a skill to master.
Striving to Improve
But as the weeks and then years went by, something unexpectedly heartwarming happened. Mark found himself drawn not only to the challenge of mastering every complex movement, but also to the energy and support of the people sweating alongside him. The CrossFit community, it turned out, wasn’t just about fitness; it was about connection. In striving to improve, Mark discovered a group that celebrated progress and looked out for each other-giving him a deep appreciation for the power of belonging and a new, lifelong pursuit of both strength and community.
Passionate Partnership
For the past three years, Blueprint, led by CEO Mark French, has teamed up with Executive Director Rob Best and his passionate Barbell Saves crew to make a real difference for teens at Hope High Online and Hope High School.
Take Charge of Health
Together, these two nonprofits aren’t just raising awareness about substance abuse and prevention-they’re inspiring young people to discover the lifelong benefits of CrossFit and healthy living. Students get hands-on exposure to fitness, build resilience, and learn what it means to take charge of their own health, both physically and mentally.
Journey to Recovery
Rob Best, a Phoenix native, knows firsthand how transformation is possible. After overcoming a decade-long battle with addiction, Rob turned the page and found his new purpose in fitness and sobriety. He’s now the proud leader of The Barbell Saves Project, combining his love for CrossFit and helping others find their journey to recovery. Rob’s story shows teens that strength comes in many forms-sometimes the strongest move is asking for help or trying something new.
Every day, Blueprint Education and The Barbell Saves Project are lighting the way for healthy choices and empowering students to own their future. Together, they’re building a community where education, fitness, and hope go hand in hand!
