Gateway Community College Partnership With Blueprint Education’s Schools Open Career Pathways

Gateway Community College's Nursing, Healthcare, and Wellness Division recently teamed up with CFA and the Maricopa County School Superintendent Office to host a Teacher Pathway Day at their Central City campus near the airport. The event connected educators and counselors with hands-on information about the college's bioscience and healthcare programs, as well as other technical and career pathways.

This event inspired Kristie Richardson, a School Counselor at one of Blueprint Education's two charter high schools, to arrange campus visits for some Hope High Online and Hope High School students, giving them firsthand opportunities to interact with faculty, experience classroom labs, and explore fields like CNC programming, cosmetology, and healthcare careers.

Sponsored by the Maricopa County School Superintendent's Office, this hands-on event gave students the chance to explore real-world career paths across industries - from healthcare and technology to skilled trades and even cosmetology. A day of discovery, learning, and inspiration for the next generation of professionals!

This collaboration truly exemplifies how Gateway's workforce-focused programs directly prepare students for jobs in the Phoenix area through the Maricopa County Community College system.

Kristie Richardson, a school counselor at Hope High Online, shared how valuable these hands-on experiences were for exposing students to associates programs, clock-hour technical pathways, and shorter training options. Students like Damian and Brian appreciated learning about diverse careers and found programs such as CNC and cosmetology especially intriguing, emphasizing the impact of seeing real career possibilities beyond high school.

Gateway's emphasis on workforce readiness and career diversity ensures Phoenix-area students discover pathways leading to immediate employment and long-term success.
